Written by Director Jeremy Palmer and the disLabled cast

Directed by Jeremy Palmer

Following a sold-out run last year at The Dairy Center in Boulder, disLabled returns with a cast entirely of Boulder region performers with disabilities in an all new original comedy.

disLabled: Improvise, Adapt, & Overact performs April 26 - 28 at the Dairy Center for the Performing Arts, 2590 Walnut Street, Boulder, CO 80302. Performances are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available by calling 303-444-7328 or online at www.phamaly.org. NOTE: disLabled is intended for mature audiences, 16 and older.

What happens when you have a disabled theatre company writing, rehearsing and performing an original comedic play…and then everything falls apart? This year’s disLabled production is Phamaly’s answer to the farcical comedy “Noises Off.” Through moments of enthusiasm and desperation, laughter and anger, composure and breakdowns, this play within a play will intrigue and delight audiences.

The disLabled cast, under the direction of Jeremy Palmer, includes Melanie Bernhard, Priscilla Carlson, Deborah Conley, Khea Craig, Laurie Dameron, Trevor Jones, Maryann Migliorelli, Paul Migliorelli, Kevin Pettit, Dale Rose and Ilaula Snavely.

disLabled is an original play, which takes shape through a collaborative writing process in initial rehearsals between the actors in the show, all with varying disabilities, and Director and Head Writer, Jeremy Palmer. After several weeks of rehearsal and script revisions, the final play is then performed over three performances at the Dairy Center for Arts & Humanities. All rehearsals were held in Boulder at Naropa University on the Arapahoe Campus.

Director Jeremy Palmer states, “I am also a person with a disability, and that is not usually the case with Phamaly directors, so the disabled perspective is present at all levels of the production staff for this show.”

Now in its 24th season, Phamaly Theatre Company is an award-winning Colorado based Theatre Company comprised entirely of performers with a wide variety of physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities.

"The mission of Phamaly is to inspire people to re-envision disability through professional theatre".
