Dinner with an Author - Paul Austin May 14, 2009

Paul Austin has been knee-deep in emergencies his entire adult life. In his early twenties, he was a full-time, paid firefighter. Since then, he has worked in emergency rooms as a nursing assistant, a medical student, a resident physician, and most recently, as an attending physician.

In Something for the Pain, Austin captures the inside of an emergency room with astoudning detail. With a writers eye, somehwere in between the blood and exhaustion shows a remarkable compassion and honesty.

The Dinner with an Author series is an evening with the extraordinary minds behind today's great books. Our authors cover the range of genres and allow you to look at what has inspired their work. We provide an intimate setting where the each author both speaks to the group and mingles with the tables to answer your questions.

In order to promote Literacy and the wonderful work the Friends of the Western Carteret Public Library are doing, a 20% donation from each ticket will be given to help build their programs.
