Three esteemed ladies of Canadian letters present their new novels: Diane Schoemperlen, At a Loss for Words, Anne Simpson, Falling, and Mary Swan, The Boys in the Trees. Larry Gaudet hosts.

Diane Schoemperlen is the author of Forms of Devotion, winner of the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction; In the Language of Love; and Our Lady of the Lost and Found, a national bestseller.

Anne Simpson’s acclaimed first novel, Canterbury Beach, was a finalist for the Thomas Head Raddall Atlantic Fiction Award. Winner of the prestigious Journey Prize for short fiction, Simpson is also the author of three books of poetry: Light Falls through You, winner of the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award and the Atlantic Poetry Prize; Loop, winner of the Griffin Poetry Prize and a finalist for the Governor General’s Award for Poetry; and, most recently, Quick.

Mary Swan is the winner of the 2001 O. Henry Award for short fiction and the author of the collection The Deep and Other Stories. Her work has appeared in literary magazines including Harper’s, Malahat Review, Ontario Review and Best Canadian Stories.
