Delray Beach ITC's "Making A Racquet" Local Music Search presented by Beck's Returns Bigger and Louder for 2009 Delray Beach International Tennis Championships

The world's top ranked ATP World Tour tennis players will battle it out on court February 21 through March 1 at the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships (ITC) but another battle of riotous proportions begins January 23 at Delray Beach hot spots - the return of the Delray Beach ITC's "Making a Racquet" local music search presented by Beck's.

"Making a Racquet" returns for a second year following the success and popularity gained from the 2008 series of events. The most talented and popular local bands will be performing original works as they vie for a chance to headline the Becks' Main Stage at the Delray Beach ITC tournament February 28 through March 1, and hear their music used in the global telecast seen in more than 200 countries around the world.

This year's schedule for the prelim events is:

Friday, January 23 - Alternative and Indie Rock Night - 8 pm at City Limits, 19 NE 3rd Ave. in Delray Beach presented by the BUZZ 103.1 FM.

Saturday, January 24 - Blues and Classic Rock Night - 8 pm at Elwood's, 301 East Atlantic Ave. in Delray Beach presented by Gater 98.7 FM.

The final schedule of the favorite bands headlining at the tournament will be posted on the Delray Beach ITC's official web site, www.yellowtennisball.com, as well as their facebook, myspace and bebo pages (Delray Beach ITC).

The success of the 2008 music search culminated in a spectacular CD entitled "Making a Racquet" presented by Beck's - Official 2008 Delray Beach ITC Soundtrack. The CD is on sale at various venues throughout Delray Beach and will be available at all of the 2009 "Making A Racquet" events for only $7; with proceeds benefiting Delray Beach's Milagro Center . The CD features the 2008 headliners The Resolvers, Jacob Jeffries Band and Coexist Scientist.

This year's Delray Beach ITC will attract over 50,000 attendees, will be seen on TV in more than 200 countries and is one of only 12 ATP World Tour events in the US .
