Deathtrap centers around famed but washed up playwright Sidney Bruhl, his sympathetic but sick wife, Myra, a student of his, Clifford Anderson, and a psychic Helga Ten Dorp. Clifford has sent his mentor a manuscript that Bruhl considers near perfection. Clifford asks for input on his play Deathtrap. Myra's weak heart is not improved when her husband does not rule out eliminating Clifford and producing the play as his own. He invites Clifford to their secluded Long Island home to discuss it. It's then that the plotting and murders occur but in a series of twists and turns, one is unsure of who is the hero and the villain.
