David Calzada y su Charanga Habanera has played an important role in the evolution of modern day Cuban music. With lead man David Calzada, Charanga Habanera was formed by a group of talented graduates from “Escuela National de Arte”. The received a Grammy award in 2003 for their album “Live in the U.S.A” and were awarded “Most Popular Band in Cuba” in 1998, 1999, and 2001.
