No, my dear, gentle reader, your eyes do not deceive you. The Jonah Kit is indeed playing a show this Saturday, a prime weekend night. If you're feeling faint after such a revelation, it's understandable; spread out on the divan, call in the servants, the ones with the grapes, and the palm fronds. Be good to yourself, you deserve it, especially after such a great shock, pleasant as it is.

Alternately, you may be the sort of peruser within whom a righteous sense of betrayal is rising. You're probably shouting "SELL OUTS!" by now. "How dare The Jonah Kit do a show on a weekend night at a venue only half a block from BART! What gall not to play on a Tuesday in a dive that's at least a 20 minute uphill obstacle course through the Tenderloin! They've gone soft!"

Well, it gets even worse, so brace yourself. Not only are we playing at an easily accessible club on a Saturday night, but the gig has actually received a boost from the local press, courtesy of SF Gate's Off The Record blog:

Hey, I'm just happy to be able to offer someone else's word in addition to my own. And if it's so wrong for a guy to schedule his band to play on a night people are more likely to feel like going out, in a place that's conveniently located, well then I'm the biggest Sell Out ever. I'm Ronald McDonald, bred with the love child of Paris Hilton and the reanimated corpse of the Marlboro man, injected with the cryogenically preserved blood of Walt Disney, and dosed with DNA from the Geico lizard. WHAT OF IT??!!?

Hope to see you soon...Best, Jonah
