Hosted by "Rokafella," Generation Next features the breathtaking innovation, virtuosity, and variety of dancers and dance forms that continue to emerge on the streets, in clubs, and in dance studios of New York's five boroughs. Performing at the event are House Dance Project, Ladies of Mawu, Le Soul Afrique, and other Locking, Popping, House, Get Light, and experimental dance crews. Curated by Gabriel "Kwikstep" Dionisio, Ana "Rokafella" Garcia, Santiago Freeman, Mathew Heggem, Thomas DeFrantz, and Adesola Osakalumi.

Illstyle & Peace Productions are Brandon "Peace" Albright's Philadelphia-based crew of DJs, beatboxers, and dancers whose spins, dives, flips, and kicks "seem to defy the laws of physics," (Washington City Paper). They will perform excerpts from the company's two new works: IMpossible-IZZpossible and Become Your Dream. The two works feature a range of hip hop dance styles from locking, popping, and breaking, to Philadelphia-style wu-tang with a vocalist and a DJ.

Hip Hop Generation Next is a citywide series that explores the continuous evolution of hip hop dance and is produced in association with Dancing in the Streets (dancinginthestreets.org) and sponsored by Bloomberg.
