Dali and the Spanish Baroque April 30, 2007

The exhibition will present Spanish master paintings alongside works by Dali from the museum's permanent collection. The exhibition seeks to demonstrate an important aspect of Dali's approach to painting and its pictorial language, which is the incorporation of elements from Baroque painting. Dali made frequent reference in his writings and even in the titles of his work to Baroque masters, which sets himself up as a modern equivalent to artists such as Velazquez.
