Asterix (Akasaka - French).
The room is an unpretentious little basement with a long counter and six tiny tables, but the food is simply superb - creative, light-hearted French cuisine prepared by a master. The foie gras on daikon appetizer features large slabs of foie gras and lightly stewed daikon, perfectly balanced in flavor. There's also an outstanding foie gras and duck confit main course served in a bed of mashed potatoes and leeks, and rather amazing lamb chops in mustard sauce. Some of the desserts, like the banana flambee, are a major theatrical production.
Akasaka 6-3-16, B1F. Tel: 03-5561-0980.
Nearest stn: Akasaka. Exit 6 Walk towards Nogizaka about 2 minutes and you will see the yellow sign on your left.

The DAJ Supper Club meets the third Friday of every month. Each month we choose a different venue to allow participants to experience the huge variety of restaurants available in Tokyo. It was established to allow business people in Tokyo the opportunity to gather, engage in informed discussion about politics and to raise money for the DAJ. We try to negotiate a special rate for meal and drinks and then charge extra as a donation to the DAJ. All proceeds go directly to the DAJ operating fund to help with various activities including membership recruiting, advertising and Get-out-the-vote efforts.
