Founded in 2004, the D.A.N.C.E. initiative brings together 32 instituitions from 17 different countries to develop an elite group of Europe's finest young dancers. Sadler's Wells Resident Company Random Dance is the leading UK partner for the programme.

With artistic direction from European dance heavyweights Frédéric Flamand, William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor and Angelin Preljocaj, the output from the first group of apprentice dancers is much anticipated throughout the dance world.

This intense, high-level professional training programme brings together the very best young dancers Europe has to offer, with classical and contemporary dance tuition combined in an interdisciplinary approach encompassing dance, architecture, visual arts and theatre.

As the culmination of the first two-year training cycle, the 22 apprentices will present an evening of work at Sadler's Wells representing the full scope of the programme including the UK premiere of Living Archive a new piece by Wayne McGregor and work by Frederic Flamand, plus William Forsythe's exceptional One Flat Thing, Reproduced.
