Cringe, the series that ?more than lives up to its name? (Time Out New York, 12/15/05), is turning one! To celebrate our first birthday, we're holding a very special Best Of Night, Wednesday, April 5, showcasing some of our funniest readers and best material from the past year. We?ll hear stories about humiliating high school dances, late ?80s rock-star crushes, first kisses, opinions on 90210 plot lines, hate-poems, and love letters all from the people who experienced it and in the original warped teenage perspective in which we wrote about it all. (Plus some perplexing regional and retro lingo sure to add some laughs).
Since our first show last April, Cringe has been a runaway hit, with a rapidly-growing crowd that has packed Freddy?s Backroom to capacity and then some. We invite you to come out and enjoy our Best Of Night at Freddy's Bar & Backroom in Brooklyn, where the drinks are always cheap, the admission always free, and the shared adolescence angst much less expensive than therapy.
Funny people reading from their old diaries, letters, songs, poems, and other general representations of the crushing misery of their humiliating adolescence, but it's okay because they're totally cool and well-adjusted and super attractive now:
