If you’ve heard the world screaming “IT’Z MICKEY!” lately, its because one kid has been taking hip hop by storm. Bronx-born Mickey Factz is the leader of the revivalist movement, or “Uber” music, as he likes to call it. He has been flipping on the highspeed beats and spitting the lyrics that make the kids jump. But don’t ask him if he’s bringing hip hop back, because he’ll shrug and say “Why bring it back, when I can move it forward.”
On May 14th, he’s joined by DJs Benzi and Donnis, Jayceeoh, and Jesse Marco – a motley crew of spot rockers, downtown darlings, and tastemakers who throw around enough “refixes” to make bloggers scramble and sweat.
