$180 plus $20 materials fee

A perfect workshop for photographers or book artists who want to create one-of-a-kind or limited-edition artist's books using their own digital or traditional photographs. We'll talk about concepting, photo and text selection, imposition and computer design considerations as well as bookbinding and editioning techniques. These intimate books are an ideal vehicle for photographs, since they can be used to create either purely visual books or books that combine text and image to form a compelling narrative.

Participants will create several blank models of artist's book structures so that they can later create their own editions using a home computer and inkjet printer. No bookbinding experience is necessary-we'll cover the basic principles from how to fold a sheet of paper to binding a hardcover book.

Tools List for Workshop
