Riane Eisler is an eminent social scientist, attorney, and futurist, perhaps best known as author of the international bestseller, “The Chalice and The Blade”, which has been translated into 21 languages. She is President of the Center for Partnership Studies, a recipient of the Humanist Pioneer Award, and a member of the World Commission on Global Consciousness and Spirituality
In her book, “The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics”, Eisler argues that many great problems of our time, including poverty, inequality, war, terrorism, and environmental degradation, are due to flawed economic systems that set wrong priorities and misallocate resources. There is a need to properly value and support the essential human work of caring for people and nature.
In this presentation, Eisler will outline a practical plan (new measures, policies, rules, and practices) for promoting human welfare and happiness and, in the bargain, support greater productivity for business through a new economic model, “caring economics”.
