The "Country Current" country-bluegrass group is the Navy's premier country music ensemble. Commander Ned Muffley formed the seven-member group in 1973 under the leadership of legendary banjo player Bill Emerson, and they quickly established themselves in all aspects of country and bluegrass music. Currently, the group is under the direction of banjo instrumentalist Chief Musician Keith M. Arneson.
