Mr. Ned Dolejsi, Executive Director, California Catholic Conference, will be the featured speaker at the Catholics@Work breakfast event on March 9, 2010. The California Catholic Conference is the official voice of California's Catholic community in the public policy arena representing the Bishops in the legislative, executive and judicial branches of state government.

Mr. Dolejsi has extensive volunteer experience and is or has been an active member of the board of many Catholic organizations, including the Board of Directors of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange Health System, the Catholic Health Association, the Leadership Roundtable Institute, Catholic Charities of California, and the National Association of State Catholic Conference Directors. He is currently President of that organization.

Before beginning his career in education and public policy, Mr. Dolejsi entered the Peace Corps, serving as an agricultural volunteer in Iran and an agricultural recruiter for California, Arizona and Hawaii.

Mr. Dolejsi said, "Catholics have to be encouraged to step outside their comfort-zone and evolve their relationship with God from a private one to a public one." Ned will share with us his perspective on the invitation of Pope Benedict XVI in "Deus Caritas Est" which invites us to live our faith in our public lives. He will also frame this idea in tangible terms that relate to major topical issues facing us today, healthcare reform and Proposition 8.

Attila Bardos, president of Catholics@Work, said, "Given the many difficult issues we are facing today as individuals, as Christians and as citizens of a state and nation Ned Dolejsi's talk is of extreme importance for all of us. I encourage all to put this on your calendar now and be sure to invite a friend to what will be a most informative and thought provoking talk."
