Cordelia: Mein Kindt December 23, 2008

Inspired by Shakespeare's play 'King Lear', 'Cordelia: Mein Kindt' is a duet for film and live body with original interviews on video between a contemporary Cordelia and her father, a Yiddish-speaking Holocaust survivor approaching the end of his time on earth. The work intersperses film clips of 'The Yiddish King Lear', starring Yiddish theatrical giant Jacob Gordon, which is regarded as ushering in the first era of Yiddish theater.
