Internationally acclaimed French-Canadian chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy returns for its second performance at the Harris Theater and its first Chicago performance with celebrated flautist Emmanuel Pahud. Les Violons du Roy, under the direction of founding music director Bernard Labadie, is widely praised for its exceptional energy, brilliance and vitality of performance, and Pahud – the principal flautist of the Berliner Philharmoniker – is considered one of today’s most exciting and adventurous musicians. The performance will be a thrilling exploration of music composed for and by the gifted flautist, composer and patron of the arts, King Frederick the Great of Prussia. The performance will include works by J.S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach, Benda, and more.
