Marc-Andre Dalbavie (b. 1961) is a rising star of the new French generation. He has a gift for color intensified from his study of Spectralism. His music is voluptuous and yet animated with rhythmic vitality. This Portrait juxtaposes Dalbavie's early masterpiece, 'Diademes', which catapulted him to international attention, with a world premiere Miller Theatre commission.
