Donald Glover of the NBC show Community is one of the fastest-rising stars of standup and television around, and we are proud to welcome him to Comix for his first headlining weekend in May!
Donald got his start when he was plucked out of his college dorm to write for the TV show 30 Rock, which he did while juggling class work and his sketch comedy group Derrick. Derrick wrote and filmed its own movie, Mystery Team, which was picked up for distribution in 2009.
If he thought things were going to slow down, he was wrong. In 2009, after appearing on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, Donald was cast as ex-football star Troy in the hit NBC show Community, and then filmed his own Comedy Central Presents, which aired in March of 2010. Donald has been one busy guy, so we’re ecstatic that he’s taking time out of his schedule to show us his own charming style of standup. You do not want to miss this weekend.
