Community Pride Day During the Great American Cleanup 2012 April 21, 2012

Community Pride Day during the Great American Cleanup 2012 takes place on Saturday, April 21st from 8 am to 2 pm at 4 Whitfield County locations.

This is the annual Bulky Waste and Electronics drop-off day for residents of Whitfield County. Residents are invited to drop-off their items at no charge. Don't forget to Secure Your Load.

The main event location is the Old Dixie Hwy. Landfill & Convenience Center at 4189 Old Dixie Hwy., in Dalton, GA. The additional locations are three local middle schools: Westside Middle School, North Whitfield Middle School, and Eastbrook Middle School.

Types of items accepted include those like:
BULKY ITEMS (for proper disposal)
• Furniture items like mattresses, sofas, bookcases, etc.
• Household equipment like power tools, lawn mowers, and appliances.
ELECTRONICS (to recycle)
• Televisions (Limit 1 per vehicle.)
• Computers and accessories.
• Digital Cameras, video cameras, DVD players, printers, scanners
• Video Game Systems
• Cell phones

The Old Dixie Hwy. location is the only one accepting Household Hazardous Waste like:
• Paint, pesticides, bleach, pool chemicals, lead-acid batteries,
and rechargeable batteries.
• Must be in original container with label.
• Maximum of 220 pounds per vehicle.
