The revolutionary intifada in Egypt has reaffirmed the truth that the people make history. Protected by a security apparatus numbering 1.7 million, Mubarak's position appeared to many to be invulnerable. He is gone but major elements of the old regime, and Washington, are trying to "manage" the revolutionary process in their own interests. Many of the key demands of the mass protests—an end to the 30-year-old state of emergency, release of political prisoners, the right to organize real unions, an end to the blockade of Gaza—have not been met.

Join us for a panel and community forum to discuss critical challenges now facing the revolution, and implications for Egypt and the entire region.
