Comedy Night Charity Fundraiser April 20, 2010

Garage Comedy Club has gone from strength to strength since its inception on August 25th, 2009. On the back of the momentum generated by its Swansea Fringe Competition (which outperformed every 'Dylan Thomas' related event as Swansea's Independent Comedy Fringe fest.), it has brought some of the biggest names in stand up comedy to ye olde Swineseye.

Starting with Perrier Award winner Milton Jones, (who was on 'Mock the Week' a week after performing for us), through to 'Live @ the Apollos' Russell Kane and most recently 'Time Out: Stand Up Of The Year' Paul Tonkinson, we have over our time accrued a great deal of signed promotional material.

On Tuesday April 20th we will be having a Charity Auction and Gong Show to support the Welsh Refugee Council Hardship Fund (which provides destitute asylum seekers with a small sum of money in order to meet their urgent needs - food, etc.) and Asylum Justice (which offers free legal advice to asylum seekers who have no other legal representation).

In between the auctioneering there will be a lineup JAM PACKED with the finest talent South West Wales has on offer, all trying to be funniest for the cause.

Hosted by Club Idol winner Jahonnay Rickwood.

Line-up includes: Simon Jones (Swansea Fringe Festival's stand up competition winner), Philip Cooper (finalist in Laughing Horse and So You Think You're Funny competitions), Ian Jenkins (One Mic Stand finalist), Ignacio V. Lopez (One Mic Stand semi-finalist), Benjamin Jenkins.
