John F Kennedy Drive at Kezar Drive
San Francisco, California 94118

This will be the 27th Annual Comedy Celebration Day. One of the few remaining FREE events in San Francisco, Comedy Day is an all day celebration of laughter, the best medicine. 5 hours of stand-up comedy, produced by Cobbs Comedy Club, The Punchline Comedy Club, Pepperbelly's, SF Sketchfest, and Comedy Day. Past performers include: Michael Pritchard, Diane Amos, Supervisor Tom Ammiano, Will Durst, Robin Williams, Eddie Izzard, Greg Proops, Sabrina Mathews, Carrie Snow, Brian Copeland, Hal Sparks, Janeane Garafolo, Dana Gould, Bob Rubin, Rob Schneider, Paula Poundstone, and almost anyone who has performed in the 20th century. For the past 4 years we have given a San Francisco Legend Of Comedy Award; past honorees include: Wavy Gravy, Enrico Banducci, Father Guido Sarducci, Michael Pritchard, Pat Morita (posthumous), and Rebecca Spencer. It's a great way to sit, unwind, and enjoy a great tradition of San Francisco. Comedians consider it their "family picnic." Some audience members began coming with their parents; now they bring their children. 2006 event was co-sponsored by the SF Food Bank.
Some food is sold, Gordon Biersch donates beer--all sale proceeds go to Comedy Day, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Easily accessible by Muni or bicycle. All information available on website: comedyday.com.
As with all live comedy shows, some language may not be suitable for younger audiences (PG)
