Buckle up for a wild ride with Theater Company of Lafayette’s Comedic Adventure “Becky’s New Car”
Written by Colorado native Steven Dietz
Directed by Madge Montgomery, TCL artistic director

Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? An old-fashioned romantic comedy with new twists, “Becky’s New Car” tells the story of Becky Foster, a 50-something wife and mother who meets a millionaire Prince Charming and faces a hilarious mid-life crisis of major proportions. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life…and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn't dare. “Becky’s New Car” was commissioned in 2007 through Seattle’s ACT theater by Seattle commercial realtor, Charles Staadecker, as a birthday gift for his wife, Benita.  The Staadecker’s have since traveled the country to attend many of the regional premiers of the play, and will be honored guests at TCL’s Wednesday, June 22 command performance in Lafayette.
