STANFORD, Calif. - The Stanford wrestling program has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2010-11 season. Stanford will wrestle in 19 duals and compete in some of the nation's most competitive collegiate tournaments this year under third-year head coach Jason Borrelli.

Stanford will begin its quest for the 2011 Pac-10 Championship with a challenging regular-season schedule that includes four teams that ended last season ranked in the top-25 in the NWCA Coaches Poll. Stanford will face off against six Pac-10 opponents this season, helping the Cardinal prepare for the conference tournament, which will be held in Corvallis, Ore., in late February.

The Cardinal will hold its wrestle-offs on Friday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. prior to its first competition against Northwestern at home on Sunday, Nov. 7. The Cardinal's dual against the Wildcats will be a one-of-a-kind outdoor event held at the Taube Tennis Center on the Stanford campus.

Stanford will then hit the road for two Pac-10 duals in mid-November as it takes on Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m. and Cal State Fullerton on Friday, Nov. 19 at 2:30 p.m. Additionally, the Cardinal will compete at the Fullerton Open on Saturday, Nov. 20. Stanford wraps up the month of November at the Northeast Duals in Albany, N.Y. Stanford will wrestle Rutgers, American, Binghamton and Penn on Nov. 27.

The team will return to The Farm for a home dual against Tennessee Chattanooga on Friday, Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. The Cardinal will also wrestle in the Reno Tournament of Champions Dec. 19 and the Midlands Tournament in Evanston, Ill Dec. 29-30.

The Cardinal will begin the New Year with a dual at Menlo College on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 5 p.m. The team will then hit the road for the Lone Star Duals in Dallas, Texas on Jan. 15. Stanford will wrestle in duals against Harvard, Brown, Nebraska and the Citadel at the event.




The Cardinal will close out the regular season with six duals, including four against Pac-10 competition. First, Stanford will travel to Corvallis, Ore., to face the reigning Pac-10 champion Oregon State Beavers on Jan. 23. Next, the Cardinal will take on the Boise State Broncos in Boise, Id., on Jan. 28 before finishing the month at home against San Francisco State on Jan. 30

Stanford and Cal Baptist will meet up for a dual on Feb. 4 at Stanford. Concluding conference action, the Cardinal will host Cal Poly and Arizona State for its final weekend of dual competition, Feb. 11 and 13, respectively. Stanford's dual against the Sun Devils will be senior night.

The Pac-10 Championships are scheduled to take place in Corvallis, Ore., Feb. 27. The NCAA Championships will be held Mar. 17-19 in Philadelphia, Pa.
