Applying for college can be a daunting process. What school should I choose? How should I fill out the application? What should my essay cover? Hear the answers to these questions and more from Gary Ripple, former Dean of Undergraduate Admission at the College of William and Mary. His free talk -- College 101 -- takes place on Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. in the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland Street. Call (757) 259-4070 for more information.

The lecture is open to all high school students and their parents interested in learning how to choose the right college, the ins and outs of the admissions process, and how to make the most of the college experience.

In addition to his role at William and Mary, Dr. Ripple was the head of admissions at Lafayette College and Ohio Wesleyan University, and an assistant at Bucknell. He was on the board of directors for Norfolk Academy and a member of the selection committee for the National Merit Corporation and The College Board Council on Entrance Services.
