Coffee Nerd Fest September 6, 2006

Come learn the fine art of coffee “cupping” with Grumpy's crack team of coffee nerds. Cupping is a coffee industry practice designed to help one single out different flavors and characteristics. Learn how to distinguish a Sumatran coffee from an Ethiopian. We'll have a selection of ultra high-grade coffees from around the world for people to sample, as well as a demonstration and brief chat.

For the curious, this is also an opportunity to come play with the famous Synesso Cyncra espresso machine, one of the only such machines on the East Coast, and the first one in New York. And a chance to meet and hang out with other coffee professionals and aficionados.
