Rattle the cobblestones! Shake the fire escapes, and make those tenements tremble! The 2007 CMJ Music Marathon finds itself in Greenwich Village, only an earshot away from CMJ nighttime showcases and the hub of New York's late night revelry. Now that CMJ is closer to everything that matters, this year's programs are even more packed with emerging music.

Although the Marathon includes more than 100,000 fans, professionals and artists, CMJ keeps activities intimate with showcases which have helped launch the careers of R.E.M., Beastie Boys, Green Day, Radiohead, the Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, the Killers, and Arcade Fire. These multi-artist lineups fill New York's legendary downtown venues like the Bowery Ballroom and the Knitting Factory.

Grab a seat and speak your mind with colleagues and some of the music industry's most seasoned professionals at dozens of panel discussions at New York University. CMJ has been honored to host past panelists like Flea, Johnny Rotten, Queen Latifah, Ted Leo, El-P in addition to thousands more.

This year's Exhibit Area, Tech Fair & Lounge will occupy the legendary Puck Building, a SoHo landmark. Networking opportunities and social events stand out among the presentations of various record labels, music publications, instrument manufacturers, marketers and professional organizations whose interest in emerging music is aligned with CMJ's mission. In the same impressive space, the Day Stage gives CMJ revelers a chance to catch their breath with performances by world renowned musicians and emerging artists.

The CMJ Film Festival is taking off with even more sophisticated programming and involvement with the industry's leading film buffs. Boasting a lineup of dozens of films, CMJ Film Festival presents a cross section of industry film premieres alongside independent productions from emerging filmmakers. Panels and question-and-answer sessions enlighten CMJ's crowds, who have in the past witnessed the premiere of Pulp Fiction and the New York premiere of Borat in addition to appearances by filmmakers Wim Wenders, Quentin Tarantino, Harmony Korine, Michael Moore and Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Past exclusive screenings have included American History: X, Fight Club, Swingers, Kids, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Basquiat, in addition to many others.

To be a part of the CMJ Music Marathon, register now and enjoy an unparalleled involvement with musicians, artists and professionals. Your registration ensures that you'll catch up with where music is headed and be blindsided by a schedule of programs that are too good to choose from.
