Tim Hawkinson
on view February 11 ? May 29, 2005

Tim Hawkinson?s fantastic constructions suggest the profound strangeness of life, matter, and time. Hawkinson, featured in the 2002 Biennial, interweaves images of bodies and machines at scales that vary from the monumental to the nearly microscopic, conjuring a world that teeters on the cusp of the real and unreal. This first major museum survey of an artist increasingly recognized as one of the most original sculptors working in America today was co-organized by the Whitney and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, where it will travel from June 26 through August 28, 2005.
