Ever wondered if your old watch or dusty clock is a collector’s item? Even if your treasured timepiece doesn’t work, The Cleveland Museum of Natural History encourages visitors to bring in their watches and clocks for Clock Day on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Perhaps your old timepiece is worth more than you thought.
Members of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) will be on hand to tell visitors what they’ve got and whether an item’s value is real or sentimental. If the timepieces aren’t working, they can determine if it’s worth the effort to have them repaired. If a particular clock is too large to move, visitors can bring in a photograph for the experts to examine.
Clock Day is free with Museum admission. Admission fees are: $12 adults; $10 ages 3-18, college students with valid ID and seniors over age 60; free for children 2 and under. Shafran Planetarium shows are $4 per person with Museum admission.
