At the 6th Annual Climb The Wall: The Stairclimb For Clean Air, its your leg muscles versus the tallest staircase in British Columbia. Are you up for the vertical challenge? All 490 feet of high-rise, 48 storeys and 739 stairs? Don’t let the numbers scare you. Average Climb time is under 10 minutes.

The event takes place Sunday, February 18, 2007 at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel. All proceeds go towards important lung health research, programs and services as well as to promoting and supporting clean air initiatives.

I was wondering whether it was competitive or not, so I read further on:

All participants will be timed using ChampionChip®, but can decide which category they prefer: ' At your own pace’ (non-competitive) Climber or ‘Going for it’ (competitive).

ChampionChip? Can't ignore a chance to cross-market for a good cause. Meh.
