Cliche by 81 Bees: A Group Photography Exhibition January 11, 2013

On January 11th, 2013, 4x5 Gallery will present Cliche featuring the work of the photography group 81 Bees, as part of the gallery's soft opening series of community based exhibitions.

As part of 4x5 Gallery's mission to open our space to Bay Area-based photography groups and serve as a community resource for local photographers and enthusiasts, we are pleased to welcome 81 Bees and provide a space for these emerging photographers to display their work.

Taking a tongue and cheek look at cliches through the medium of photography, 17 Bay Area artists will display a series of images that are unafraid of cliches, but rather delve into the action of finding original meaning in the mundane. Notes 4x5 Gallery founder Gordon Szeto, "The works, well, it's painfully perfect and funny."

Born out of the recognition of a mutual passion and talent for photography, the group, 81 Bees formed in spring 2008. For nearly five years, the members of 81 Bees have continually inspired to motivate, collaborate and learn from one another-whether it be new printing techniques or strategies for furthering themselves as artists.
