East 49th St., just past Grant Ave., in Cuyahoga Heights
Cleveland, Ohio

The conductor is calling everyone “All Aboard” to experience the sights and sounds of the railroads. Celebrate the free annual Cleveland Metroparks “Train Day” event at CanalWay Center in Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation in Cuyahoga Hts., just below the massive, 2,000-foot long bridge that carries more than 40 trains a day across the valley.
Visitors, young and old, can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day including model train exhibits – featuring G-scale, HO-scale, N-scale and S-scale. And, listen in to the train conductor conversations passing by the reservation with the ‘train spotters’ club, see other train-related exhibits, and take guided hikes to the Trestle Overlook to get up-close views of the trains over the reservation.

Visitors can hike along the “hobo trail” to learn the markings these American travelers used to communicate with other hobos and even talk to a few hobos. Over 20 hobo markings will be displayed along the trail, which were used as sources of communication from one hobo to the next.

Children can also enjoy crafts, train rides ($1 per person), and movies about trains will be shown all day. Plus, there are refreshments for sale at the “dining car,” and more!
