LA Metblogs leads the first in a series of evenings dedicated to LA's classic diners, dives, cafeterias, coffee shops and lounges.

You’re invited! Nosh at your city's most timeless restaurants when blogging.la’s playful walk down memory lane takes you to the first two of many "classic eats" locations throughout our fine city—a city that's noted for its diverse and delish foods!

Meet up with your LA:MB authors and fellow city nerds as they lead this tour to two of Downtown's iconic destinations:

Clifton's Cafeteria...
and the Bonaventure Hotel's BonaVista Lounge!

Clifton's, a historic LA fixture since 1931, serves up a fun atmosphere of kitsch (think stuffed deer peering down upon you from a grove of faux trees) along with comfort-food classics like mac'n'cheese and banana cream pie. The BonaVista Lounge tops the evening (so to speak!) with its 360-degree view of LA's night skyline from within its rotating retro-cool lounge and its house cocktails guaranteed to leave you spinning even more than the architecture.

All you have to do is meet us at Clifton's at 5:30pm Saturday the 8th of November!

During the event you can meet your local bloggers, play City Nerd bingo (dedicated to one of our favorite local mystery bloggers, the LA City Nerd), and even win a chance to guest-blog on LA:MB!

Now, we know this invite is a little late. That’s because us LA:MB authors are really busy, you see. And we figure we don’t mind so much if this gets written up or not; really, we’d just like to invite you to come have dinner with us. Won’t you?

On Saturday November 8, beginning at 5:30pm, the tour will meet up at Clifton’s Cafeteria. Clifton’s Cafeteria:

At 7:30pm we’ll walk, drive or bike (whatever way each guest wants! go crazy!) to the beautiful BonaVista Lounge.

While in the future bLA plans to have chartered buses, for this first tour we will all drive or bike ourselves to the event and between locations.

Also, while we plan to have meal packages for purchase in the future, for this first tour each guest is responsible for settling their own bill. Unless we think you’re really cute.
