Workshop will teach an easy and fun to learn woodblock relief process that can easily be done at home with a few simple supplies. Spoon printing is a low tech method of printmaking using the pressure of the back of a spoon for printing a carved surface onto paper. Students will use tools to carve an image onto a block of wood and learn how to prepare paper for printing and how to print. You will leave with your woodblock and multiple prints from your image. All supplies will be included and you may want to come to the class with a few sketches and a pencil.

This class will be led by Marissa Swinghammer, http://mlee.etsy.com. "I am a fine art printmaker living in Boston, Massachusetts with my husband and too many pets. My studio is in my home where I create each piece by hand. I discovered woodcuts which have since become my favorite medium in July of 2005 after taking a class in printmaking at Mass Art here in Boston. After the class was over I started what was to become a long and very productive creative streak. At times I can be found working twelve hours a day or more on my art, carving wood and creating new prints. I have taught many workshops in my home and look forward to coming to Etsy and teaching there. "
