Mozart was fascinated by the combination of clarinet, viola and piano, an enthusiasm that was passed on to Schumann and Bruch. Raymond Lester studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, winning numerous prizes for solo and chamber music performances, and is currently a member of the Manchester-based contemporary music group 'Psappha'.
