"City Bridges--Imagined and Real": A talk with Judith Martin and "Dakota Speak of Rivers": A talk with Mona Smith October 2, 2007

Judith Martin is Program Director of Geography at the University of Minnesota and will address the importance of "the Bridge" in literature and art. Mona Smith, Sisseton-Wahpteon Dakota Oyate, runs Allies: media/art as a translator and presenter of Native American stories and art and will give a Dakotan perspective of the concept of "the River." This event is sponsored by the Institute for Advanced Study, the College of Design and the Institute on the Environment in collaboration with the Telling River Stories collaborative, the Department of Urban Studies, the Water Resources Center and the Metropolitan Studies Consortium.
