Circus! - Art and Science Under the Big Top January 6, 2011

This exhibit illuminates the pageantry and feats of skill and daring of this spectacular form of public entertainment and its evolution from the 18th century to the modern day. The exhibition features more than 65 objects - from authentic swallowing swords and costumes to circus posters and fine art paintings by world renowned artists - as well as several interactive stations demonstrating the science and engineering behind performing acts that seem to fly through the air or require impossible balance.
