I must say, I lived in Fort Lauderdale right off Las Olas Boulevard for 2 years and in the Ft. Lauderdale Beach area for 10 years total. Unless you've NEVER seen anything entertaining during the Christmas season, this is definitely nothing to write home about. Also, you better bring your wallets full as not only is the parking HERENDOUS but it's not cheap unless you're lucky enough to find a "muni-meter" spot on the street (good luck with that!). You'll also be nickel-and-dimed for every little thing in bars, nightclubs, and restaurants as this is a tourist trap haven from Hell!! I've worked on Las Olas Blvd. as well, so take it from someone who was managing a restaurant/night club - this whole strip is overpriced and full of shallow, dim-witted wanna-be type people who only want to be "seen". That's good in a way, because if they want to be heard, there's nothing even remotely interesting or intelligent coming out of these locals' mouths, even with some of the college educations that they possess.
Just a fair warning to all that think about attending! Don't get ripped off!

Parking is always an issue on Los Olas, so be prepared. I believe it's a nice time if you are looking for something to do. I've lived here for over 25 years and have always had a good time at this event.
