"China's Complicated Economic Ascendancy"

Most recently, Katie Klingensmith spent three years in Zurich with the foreign exchange research group of UBS Wealth Management Research. She is currently a member of the macroeconomics team posted in San Francisco, contributing to foreign exchange and economic policy research, as well as representing global research views to clients on the West Coast. Katie previously worked in Washington, D.C., for several years as an international economist for the U.S. Treasury Department, and before that at the Federal Reserve Board researching liquidity risk and payment system policy issues. She has also worked at a commercial bank in Argentina, for the World Bank, and in a microfinance organization.

Ms. Klingensmith holds an undergraduate degree with honors from Swarthmore College and earned a master's degree in public policy from Harvard University's Kennedy School. She also studied in Portugal (Fulbright Fellow), Argentina (Rotary Scholar), Spain, Brazil and El Salvador.
