Childrens Mela July 30, 2008

As part of the tenth anniversary celebrations, a specially designed children's mela on Rain Mazhe Jaatre is being organised, with an informative guided tour, thematic exhibits and displays on interesting and less-known facts about the monsoons. There will be native games, bullock-cart rides, shadow-puppet shows, folk music and dance performances including Karagilu from Andhra Pradesh. Also, come indulge in the Folk-toy stalls, a craft bazaar with live demos of artisans at work, food stalls that serve up traditional delicacies of the rainy season, and the Marundu Kadai, a traditional herbalist’s shop that recommends ways to tide over the rainy season in good health.
