Toronto audiences have numerous occasions to view a wide selection of documentaries from around the world. Until now there has been is little opportunity to engage in in-depth public dialogue about the form and significance of various works in the documentary genre. It is our hope that through a comparative discussion of the films shown, workshop participants will be able to consider the various pedagogical and ethical issues associated with the production and presentations of these visual media.

Films scheduled for screening: "ABC Africa" and "Rocked: Sum41 in Congo". "Death in Gaza" and "Lessons in Fear".

Discussion Facilitators:
Peter Lynch (Film Director and Writer), Stacey Johnson (Broadcast Journalism, Seneca College), Karyn Sandlos (Faculty of Liberal Studies, OCAD and Independent Curator), Roger I. Simon (OISE/UT and Director of the Centre for Media and Culture in Education)
