Vocalist and guitarist Alexi Laiho and drummer Jaska Raatikainen formed this black metal band in 1993 in Espoo, Finland. Sanctity is a melodic thrashcore band Deeply rooted in death metal with firm beliefs in Viking mythology, Amon Amarth formed in 1992 in Tumba, Sweden, a southern suburb of Stockholm.
