One of the city's most popular annual events, Chicago's Saint Patrick's Day Parade takes place on the Saturday before March 17th, rain or shine. The day kicks off with the traditional dyeing of the Chicago River, giving the water a shade of emerald green. The parade route begins on the corner of Columbus Drive and Balbo then continues North to Monroe.
