MANHATTAN, NY, July 10, 2006: On Tuesday July 18, 2006 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, celebrate the summer with the second in a series of seasonal cheese festivals held at Nolita House. These festivals are designed to bring great cheese, libations and music together for an intriguing intermingling of the senses. Come join Cheese Evangelists Waldemar & Nadia, Brooklyn Brewmaster, Garrett Oliver and DJ FK for a hot night in deliciously cool surroundings. The festival will feature nine of this summer’s best artisan cheeses from around the world, paired to perfection with beer and wine by expert fromagers and a local brewmaster. Some of the pairings include Monte Enebro, a Spanish soft ripened goat’s milk cheese with Brooklyn Brewery’s East India Pale Ale; Colston Basset Shropshire Blue, an English cow’s milk blue cheese with Brooklyn Brown Ale and Humboldt Fog, an American fresh goat’s milk cheese with Chateau Miraval, a French Ro?e wine. Guests will progress from station to station sampling pairings at their own pace while engaging in conversation with distinguished experts, pairing enthusiasts and soul aficionados.

About Garrett Oliver - Garrett Oliver is the Brewmaster of The Brooklyn Brewery, the author of “The Brewmaster's Table”, and the foremost authority in the United States on the subject of traditional beer. After years of amateur brewing inspired by beers he encountered during a year in England, Garrett Oliver began brewing professionally at Manhattan Brewing Company in 1989 as an apprentice. He was appointed brewmaster there in 1993. He soon became widely known both here and abroad for his flavorful interpretations of traditional brewing styles and as an avid and entertaining lecturer and writer on the subject of fine beer. Garrett has hosted hundreds of beer tastings and dinners, writes regularly for beer and food-related periodicals, and is internationally recognized as an expert on traditional beer styles and their affinity with good food.

About Max McCalman - Renowned as one of the cheese world's living legends for his expertise, insight and passion, Max McCalman is dedicated to helping others understand and enjoy the unique pleasures of artisanal cheeses. As America's first restaurant-based Maître Fromager and a Garde et Jure as designated by France's exclusive Guilde des Fromagers, Max established the critically acclaimed cheese programs at New York City's Picholine and Artisanal restaurants over the past decade and has become a highly visible advocate for artisanal cheese production around the world. About Waldemar & Nadia - Waldemar Albrecht & Nadia Muna Gil are making it their mission to bring the wonders of artisan cheeses to gourmands from all walks of life. With over ten years of combined cheese experience, their knowledge, freshness and unpretentious attitude invariably captivates their audiences. Waldemar started his cheese career at San Francisco's renowned Market Hall Foods and Pasta Shop, then moved to New York to become Head Fromager at the Artisanal Bistro and Fromagerie. His cheese expertise has led him to appearances on Sirius radio's Eat & Drink program, PBS national television, and a feature in Martha Stewart Living Magazine. Nadia studied finance at MIT and spent six years on Wall Street before her fascination with cheese pulled her into an entirely new career.
