Cheesesteak Challenge: The Steaks Are High Block Party October 17, 2010

Square 1682 will host the first Cheesesteak Challenge: The Steaks Are High block party on Sunday, October 17 from 3pm to 5pm, benefiting Philadelphia Academies.

Eight chefs from around the area will face off to see whose cheesesteak interpretation is superior. The sandwiches will be judged by a panel of local experts, including Tony Luke of Tony Luke's Old Philly Style Sandwiches.

While sampling food from some of the best chefs in the city, guests can enjoy three Victory Brewing Company brews offered at the event.

Tickets are $20 per person, all of which goes to benefit Philadelphia Academies. Philadelphia Academies is a charity dedicated to expanding life and economic options for Philadelphia public school students through career-focused programming, preparing them for employment and post-secondary education.
