Chartier Danse
presents

Bas-Reliefs
Using the great Canadian painter Betty Goodwin's pictorial work as a starting point, Bas-Reliefs isa multi-disciplinary collaboration from a stellar team of 11 artists from Toronto and Montréal who integrate their artistic visions into an extraordinary creation under the artistic direction of Marie-Josée Chartier. Ginette Laurin and Guillaume Bernardi each choreographed a duet for dancers Marie-Josée Chartier and Dan Wild, set in a scenic environment by Julie Fox (costumes and scenography), Peter Mettler (video), Jeremy Mimnagh (video and photography), Lucie Bazzo (lighting design) and Heidi Strauss (artistic assistant), with music by Alexander MacSween and Gaétan Leboeuf.

Bas-Reliefs reveals a spatial environment fraught with drama and contrasts, marked by a troubling humanity.
