Champaign Urbana Ballet: Swan Lake May 8, 2010

A brand new production of the ballet classic Swan Lake from CU Ballet delivers magnificent choreography and a captivating story danced to the music of Tchaikovsky. Stylized staging includes all new costumes, scenery and lighting designed by artistic director Deanna Doty and production supervisor Andy Warfel, with creations by other local artists. Told in ballet, the story centers around Prince Siegfried's discovery of his true love, the swan princess Odette, who suffers under the spell of sorcerer Von Rothbart and by the deception of his daughter, the black swan Odile. Lavish and deeply affecting, this timeless and beautiful ballet is a must-see.
